External Scholarships
External scholarships are funded by private entities which have various criteria, due dates, scholarship amounts and renewal requirements. Please click on the scholarships below which you want more information on and you will be directed to the sponsor’s scholarship page. You must notify the Office of Financial Aid if you are awarded any of these scholarships to avoid being over met on your Cost of Attendance.
St. Thomas University provides the information and links for the following scholarships as a courtesy to our students. However, the University has no direct affiliation with these entities. Therefore, any issues or concerns regarding these scholarships should be directed at the awarding organizations.

Sports Gear Swag Scholarship
The Sports Gear Swag scholarship offers one-time prize which can cover various education-related costs such as tuition, books, computers, accommodation, and other necessary expenses. There are no GPA requirements and no application forms. It’s our way of giving back and supporting individuals who want to pursue their dreams through education.
Award Amount: $1,000
TastyPlacement Scholarship
TastyPlacement is offering this scholarship to any undergraduate or graduate college or university student, and it is open to any field of study. Applicants must write a haiku on any marketing topic they like.

Low-income students can apply for CAC College Scholarships now
The Miami-Dade County Community Action and Human Services Department (CAHSD) Community Advisory Committees (CACs) will be accepting applications for educational scholarships starting March 1 through April 1, 2022. Each scholarship award is $2,500. CAHSD has been awarding Scholarships for the past 31 years to assist low-income college students achieve their educational goals.
To qualify, candidates must be between the ages of 16-25, enrolled in a college or vocational institution or attending a college or vocational institution this fall. Students must have a minimum 2.0 GPA average. Applicants must reside within the boundaries of any of the sixteen target areas represented by a CAC with an annual household income that does not exceed 200% of the Community Service Block Grant (CSBG) Poverty Income Guidelines. The CAC target areas are: Allapattah, Brownsville, Coconut Grove, Culmer, Edison/Little River, Florida City, Goulds, Hialeah, Liberty City, Little Havana, Naranja, Opa-Locka, Perrine, South Beach, South Miami and Wynwood. Other requirements include financial circumstances, community service hours, employment history and submission of an essay. Additional details are available on the website.
Interested individuals can download the application at www.miamidade.gov/socialservices. Completed applications can be submitted at any of the Miami-Dade Community Resource Centers, via “Drop Box” at the entrance of each center, by mail, or email at CACscholarship@miamidade.gov. MARJU FASHIONS SCHOLARSHIP
We are pleased to announce our very first scholarship “Marju Fashions Scholarship Program” to assist students to achieve their educational goals. The $1000 yearly scholarship will be awarded to one student for their education expenses. Further, our aim is to double this amount for next year’s program.
Scholarship Amount
The scholarship amount is $1000 and it will be awarded to one student for their education expenses.
Who is Eligible for the Scholarship?
We want to help a student who is really in need of funds for their studies. Both Undergraduate Students and Graduate Students can apply for the scholarship program, provided they are enrolled in a full-time degree program in an accredited college or graduate school.
How to Apply for the Scholarship?
- Write an essay of 800+ words on the topic “Fashion Tips to Ensure You Always Look Stylish”
- You must submit your essay on or before December 31st, 2022.
- All applications should be sent to scholarship@marjufashions.com in a Word format only. PDFs or Link to Google Docs will not be accepted.
- You should mention your full name, your university name, phone number, and email address in the scholarship application.
- Make sure your essay is unique and creative.
- Plagiarism will not be tolerated, and if we have found that you have copied the article from some other source then your application will be immediately rejected.
- You should not provide any other information other than that mentioned above.
- After the application deadline has passed, our team will judge your essay on creativity, the value you have provided, and its thoughtfulness.
- The winners will be announced on January 15th, 2023 and the winner will be notified by email.
How will applications be reviewed?
Our team will manually review each article/application submitted and list the winners on this page after the deadline date.
The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities is once again partnering with Caf Bustelo to award twenty-five $5,000 El Caf del Futuro Scholarships. Since 2016, $465,000 in scholarship funds have been awarded to 93 Hispanic students nationwide through the partnership.
To enter, students must complete the online application located on the HACU website and write an essay in English or Spanish, in 800 words or less, responding to the following topic:
Describe how your Latino heritage, family and the community in which you grew up have impacted your desire and motivation to obtain a college degree. Additionally, describe what you intend to accomplish with your degree and how you will give back to your community.
The scholarship opportunity is available to undergraduate and graduate students of all majors who are enrolled full-time at a four-year HACU-member institution, are 18 years old or older, of Hispanic/Latino descent and U.S. citizens or permanent legal residents.
