Assistant Professor in Biology
The College of Health Sciences and Technology at St. Thomas University in Miami, Florida invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor in Biology, within our School of Science, to start early 2022. St. Thomas University is currently in an exciting period of growth with a record enrollment of new students for the past three academic years. This position, along with teaching undergraduate and graduate biology and pre-medical courses each semester, the candidate will be expected to develop an active research program. Research that complements our current cell science core faculty is a plus but not a requirement. Established, curriculum-based research courses can be used as part of the teaching load. The candidate will be in the unique position to help guide the growth and future of our existing biology program as well as working within our newly established Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences degree. Ability to procure grants is a plus but not essential, as growth of the program will take precedent for the initial period.
The candidate shall have a Ph.D. in either Biology, Cell Biology, Neuroscience, Microbiology or other cell-science related fields from an accredited higher education institution. The candidate will possess strong communication and organizational skills and a desire to develop innovative learning experiences. He or she should also have a commitment to high quality teaching and research and the ability to work in a multicultural environment.
