Andrew Stanton
Andrew Stanton has been an Assistant Public Defender in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit since 1994. He practiced as a trial lawyer before moving to the Public Defender’s Appellate Division in 1998. There, he has handled appeals in the Third District Court of Appeal, The Florida Supreme Court, and United States Supreme Court, where he represented the respondent in the landmark Fourth Amendment case Florida v. J.L. Currently he handles appeals in capital cases. He is the coauthor of chapters on Criminal and Juvenile Appeals in the Florida Bar publication Florida Appellate Practice and has served on both the Appellate and Criminal Rules Committees of the Florida Bar. He is a graduate of Harvard Law School and Swarthmore College.
