On February 13th & 14th, the Business law Section of the Florida Bar held its 38th Annual Federal Securities Institute, at the Hotel Colonnade in Coral Gables.
STU Law students Jose Negreira (3L), Mary Rojas (2L) and Ashley Bruneus (2L) represented our law school at this event. The main topics were Mergers & Acquisitions, Corporate Governance, Private Equity and Litigation, including changes in Delaware law affecting litigation regarding securities.
Additionally, panelists discussed the latest Florida corporate statutory changes affecting shareholder litigation. This event provided our students with an amazing opportunity to network with Judges and attorneys, and meet future legal colleagues.
