St. Thomas University (STU) has promoted Matthew Roche to Associate Vice President of Student Affairs and Compliance. Roche joined STU in April as the Chief Compliance Officer and Title IX Coordinator. He also serves as the head coach of STU’s men’s and women’s tennis teams.
In his new role, Roche will provide strategic leadership for growing the on-campus student population. His Student Affairs responsibilities include: Residence Life, Student Activities, the Health Center, International Student Services, Public Safety, Title IX, Band/Choir, and Dining Services. Using a student-centered lens, Roche will work to enhance the overall student experience at STU. Roche has spoken at national conferences on Title IX, ADA, and Compliance issues.
Prior to joining STU, Roche served as the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, as well as the Title IX Coordinator, at Norwich University in Vermont. Prior to arriving at Norwich, Roche served as the Director of Disability Services and University Compliance Manager at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Fla. Roche earned his J.D. from Vermont Law School and bachelor’s in Political Science and History from Notre Dame College in South Euclid, Ohio.
