The Office for Career Development and Career Counselor Laura Varela, recently organized exclusive Miami-Dade and Broward County courthouse tours for a select group of our law students.
In Broward, Judge Tarlika Navarro ’10 hosted our students who had the incredible opportunity to observe a grand theft auto jury trial. They also attended a luncheon with Judge Navarro, St. Thomas Law Adjunct Professor Judge Michele Towbin-Singer, and Judge John Bowman ’87.
In Miami-Dade, the students toured the Richard E. Gerstein Justice Building, observing several criminal matters including DNA expert testimony in a capital murder case. This was also followed by lunch with Judges Victoria del Pino ’00, Kristy Nunez ’06 and Eleane Sosa-Bruzon ’05.
We are particularly grateful for our alumni judges for hosting our students.
The Career Development office at St. Thomas Law consistently creates opportunities for students to participate in out of classroom activities. These activities are geared towards networking with practitioners in a variety of legal fields, and expanding opportunities for dynamic internships and post-graduate employment.
