The admissions process is an evaluation that requires submission of an admissions application and official academic documents (and academic transcripts and test scores when appropriate). We encourage applicants to follow the steps below when submitting an application. Here’s an Enrollment Checklist to make sure you’re on track with your application!

Special(Non-Degree Seeking) Student

Special Student is granted to candidates who wish to take courses as a non-degree seeking student. The Special Student (Non-Degree) Application must be completed and submitted to the Office of Admissions. The student is limited to 6 semester credits and are not eligible for financial aid and/or institutional scholarships. International students cannot apply for “Special Student” status.

Graduate Admission FAQs

Is there a fee for the admissions application? No, the application is free.

How long will it take for me to receive an admission decision? If you uploaded your unofficial transcripts with your application, you can receive an admission decision.

Will I be a full-time graduate student at STU? Yes, as long as you enroll for at least 6 credits in a 16-week semester or 3 credits in an 8-week term.

How long are graduate courses at STU? Most of the online and blended programs are offered in 8-week terms and the traditional on-campus programs in 16-week semesters.

Do I need to submit a new application if I want to change the academic program or start term? No, just contact a graduate admission advisor and they can quickly assist you with any changes.

If I want to visit campus, do I need to make an appointment? No, walk in visits are always welcomed but in order to maximize your experience, an appointment is recommended. By scheduling a campus visit in advance, the Admissions team can personalize your tour, review your admission file, and schedule a meeting with the program director.

Is financial aid available to graduate students? Yes, you may be eligible for federal student aid. Please complete the FAFSA and once approved, the STU Financial Aid team will process your awards. In addition, STU offers convenient payment plan options.

How do enroll in courses? Once you are admitted, your academic advisor will send you a preliminary course schedule typically within a week of you receiving your admission.
