In 2022 Dr. Nichole Lowe joined St. Thomas University as Visiting Assistant Professor in the College of Health Sciences & Technology. She has both academic and clinical experience, having served as an instructor in Physical Therapy degree programs and as a Physical Therapist. She is passionate about Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and has developed and implemented programs and resources in both higher education and the clinic. Dr. Lowe’s clinical interests include orthopedic, sports and pelvic health, as well as emergency management of the athlete. Her clinical experience provides students with the opportunity to integrate didactic knowledge and hands-on skills to real-world scenarios.
Dr. Lowe teaches in the Exercise Science & Human Performance program and the Allied Health & Sports Medicine Program. The Bachelor of Science in Allied Health & Sports Medicine will prepare students for graduate programs in athletic training, occupational therapy, and physical therapy along with many other professional opportunities. The Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science & Human performance will prepare students for career entry as fitness trainer, strength and conditioning coach, hospital fitness and cardiac rehabilitation specialist, human and athletic performance specialist, wellness coordinator, recreation, and sports director. As well as prepares students to enter graduate programs and pursue research.
