Fernandez Family Center for Leadership and Wellness
The Fernandez Family Center for Leadership and Wellness is a state of the art 62,000 square foot facility that is home to St. Thomas University’s Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams, as well as the Women’s Volleyball team, and a learning laboratory for the nationally ranked Sports Administration program. The center is equipped with a fitness center, an athletic training room, team locker rooms, full size gymnasium for volleyball and basketball, The Ogazón Family Fronton, a concession and lounge area, mezzanine level academic classrooms, a conference room, a racquetball/squash court/multi-purpose room, and Athletic Coaching offices. Mike Fernandez, chairman of MBF Healthcare Partners, donated $3 million to this beautiful new hub of student activity and leadership development. “The creation of a leadership and wellness center will build an unprecedented opportunity for STU. The programs offered there will develop students’ leadership skills, mold their minds, shape their bodies and build their spirits,” says benefactor Mike Fernandez.
